but if we do make that trade then w ecould easily have the picks avalliable to move up to maybe 12 or 13 and still take Clady, and possibly even save the 28 pick and our 2nd rd picks. The chiefs are 21 million under the cap so they can be a huge player in free agency as well.

I would agree with you; the Chiefs have a number of holes and the more draft picks, the better. However, Clady has the chance to make an impact similar to that of Joe Thomas. A solid offensive line will go a long way to improving the Chiefs and I'm not sure that can happen in the second round.

I like the idea of the Chiefs taking Ryan Clady, but i think they should trade the 5 th pick to dallas, for 2 first this year, and a second this year, as well as a 1 next year. if they do that then at 22 i see the chiefs taking Aquib Talib and at 22 i would have Mario Manningham. Then at 37 in teh second rd i think they get there OT.

I think Boller would benefit from a change in scenery, and who knows, maybe Troy Smith is the answer. But they're getting dangerously thin at the most important position - it wouldn't be a bad decision to continue looking for their quarterback of the future.

Can't see the Ravens picking a QB with #8. Boller was a high pick like that and what has he done. He's marginal and so is any QB in this year's draft. Ozzie is smarter than that to waste a high pick on another project QB. The Ravens will likely add to the D that is aging as I write this or draft someone who is a playmaker on offense. A QB at #8 is a smokescreen. McNair is finished but Boller gave the Ravens enough to keep him, Troy Smith and probably a journeyman QB a shot this year. Don't expect much from the Ravens in 08 with a new coach. Same attitude that Defense wins the ball game.

Dixie - I think picking defense for most, if not all, of the rounds is the best strategy as well. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to start grooming a kicker beyond Phil Dawson. I wouldn't say that's a necessity as of right now, but it wouldn't hurt. As for the linebackers getting old, the D-line is even older. They need to take a long, hard look at some good defensive ends to help make the LB's jobs easier.

EJ - Like Adam said, Long does possess a mean streak, which will probably carry him farther than we think. I'd say there's a good possibility he could make as strong an impact on the O-line for whatever team nabs him.

When I said Long wont be as good as Thomas, I went a little too far. Long is a great player, but I still think Thomas is slightly better.
