Players Say Goodbye to Crennel; Former Coach Staying On?

As you may or may not know, LB D’Qwell Jackson has a blog over a Yardbarker.  In his most recent post, he sends former head coach Romeo Crennel his best wishes and will always “be in his corner.”  He, and the rest of the team, seems to have really respected the man and it really is unfortunate the team could not have performed better for Crennel.  But, keep in mind, there was talk this season of players “quitting,” so changes had to be made.  It’s always interesting to get the players’ perspectives, so I would suggest checking it out.

– This just goes to show you how much of a gentleman Crennel is: he is willing to stay with the Browns in a different role if the new head coach and general manager was willing to discuss that with him.  If Scott Pioli, current VP of player personnel for the New England Patriots, gets the vacant GM job, you can expect the two to discuss that possibility, given their history together.  I would be very open to keeping Crennel as a member of the team, just for his character.  Let’s see what happens…
