Browns to Hire Kokinis, But Does It End There?

The deal with George Kokinis is about as close to being done as one can expect, as Kokinis met with owner Randy Lerner in New York on Wednesday.  So whether you like it or not, Kokinis is most likely going to be the next GM of the Cleveland Browns.  But will it end there? The team may have had to lay off 18 employees in the past week, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t consider hiring a Bill Parcells-type of front office guru, someone to watch over and make sure no one gets too big for their britches or just insane.

Those are just simply rumors at this point, but it would make sense for Lerner to explore that option.  After all, he is not opposed to trying something new, especially since his recent GM-head coach relationships have pretty much been disasters.  As ProFootballTalk suggests, could the salaries of those 18 who were fired help pay for such a position that the Tuna helped make trendy?

The Kokinis deal will most likely be announced in the next few days.
