The Browns may not have been a day late, but they must have been a dollar short, because they missed out on two FA cornerbacks in the past days.  CB’s Jabari Greer and Chris Carr were both in town in recent days, however both left town without a deal.  Greer even headed out to New Orleans where he inked a deal. Let it be known that I was not “running with this rumor,” and reporting it to be true.  I never thought there was much validity to these trade rumors, but I certainly didn’t think it would be someone’s practical joke (but it does make more sense now).  Apparently, the recent Jay Cutler trade rumors were all a big joke, started by some Broncos fans who were “getting upset with all the rumors swirling around this weekend about Jay Cutler getting traded.” The Broncos have also come out and said that they have absolutely no intention of trading Cutler, which is [...]

That is just one of the rumors currently swirling around the Browns.  By now, most people interested in the NFL know that QB Jay Cutler was by no means pleased that over the weekend his name came up in trade rumors involving QB Matt Cassell.  If things are not smoothed out between the Broncos and Cutler, there is always the chance that Cutler could then turn around and start asking to be traded.  An immature move, sure, but one that could greatly benefit another team.  But would it really benefit the Browns?  Not if it was for this proposed rumor. There was some talk that (former) free agent CB Andre Goodman would come visit Cleveland on Monday if he did not sign a deal with the Denver Broncos, a team he was visiting on Sunday.  Turns out, he never got a chance to visit the Browns, because he signed a five-year deal with Denver on Sunday.  The deal is worth up to $25.2 million, with $10 million guaranteed.
