Did we Get Enough for the Number Five Draft Pick?
Aaron Curry was gone. Several other defensive stars remained such as Brian Orakpo, Clay Matthews and Rey Maualuga. The Browns decided to trade the number five overall pick to the New York Jets. Did we get enough in return? Yes. We got one extra Draft pick in the second round (52nd overall) and three players. With the 52nd overall pick, we acquired Hawaii Defensive End David Veikune. This could be a “sleeper pick”. Although undersized, Veikune is very strong. At the Combine, his bench presses were among the best of all defensive players. He tackles well in open space but [...]
Give the Browns’ 2009 Draft a ‘B’
It seems fairly ridiculous to try and grade a draft class immediately after the fact, because the true impact of those drafted is usually not felt until a few seasons later. However, people love grading drafts and, more importantly, discussing a team’s picks. And hey, so do I, so here we go: So, what can be said about the Browns’ 2009 draft class? There was rampant speculation as to what the Browns would do with the fifth overall pick and, as many people had hoped, Eric Mangini and Friends traded down not once, not twice, but three times before making [...]

With the Browns selecting two receivers in the second round yesterday – Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi – the speculation of Braylon Edwards’ future with the Browns continues. This time, there is word of Edwards being involved in a deal with the New York Jets that would send RB Thomas Jones to Cleveland. This rumor was apparently fueled when the Jets decided to pick RB Shonn Greene out of Iowa. Head coach Eric Mangini has been busy turning the Browns into the Cleveland Jets this offseason, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see a move like this happen. [...]
We Traded Down 3 Times For This Guy?!???!?!

Could Malcolm Jenkins Be Back in the Mix for the Browns?
After reading this article from Tony Grossi, one might think that a familiar name could once again be entering the mix for the Browns on draft day: DB Malcolm Jenkins. Yes, the man who has seen his draft stock plummet in the last few months could be on the Browns’ radar, according to Grossi: Somebody with a business interest in this Browns’ draft mentioned to me today a new name as a possibility for the team’s first choice — Ohio State defensive back Malcolm Jenkins. This could possibly mean that the Browns are still looking to trade down in an [...]
Happy Tim Couch Day (10 Year Anniversery)
On this fateful date, 10 years ago Tim Couch was selected #1 by the Browns. And in memory of that I would like to wish everyone a Happy Tim Couch day, so dust off that old” Timmy C” jersey or tee and wear it proudly today!! Editorial Note: I do not think that Tim Couch was a great QB by any means, this is more of a joke. Editorial Note (from Steve): We actually love Tim Couch.
An Open Letter To ManKok
Dear Mr. Mangini and Mr. Kokinis, If you two decide to trade Brady Quinn and/or Braylon Edwards be prepared to to ran out of town and lose thousands of fans along the way. These trades would be great, if you’re trying to set the team back 10 years. Yes, Braylon had a rough year this past season, but is the 34 year old David Pattern ready to finally be a #1??? Haha, I f*ckin doubt it. I know you two will state, oh but wait if we deal Edwards, we’ll take Michael Crabtree at 5. Well let me say this: [...]
