For the way the season started, it is certainly coming to a very satisfying end (at least when we don’t think about the overall record). Both Joshua Cribbs and Joe Thomas have been selected to represent the Browns in the Pro Bowl this year. Eric Mangini is doing his level best to keep his job.  The Browns won at home Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, 23-9.  If Cleveland beats the Jaguars at home in January, the Browns will end the season with four consecutive wins.  Mike Holmgren recently declared on radio that he would take some time to make his decision on whether Mangini will remain the Head Coach for the next season.  The two men are scheduled to meet soon to discuss Mangini’s future. With a left foot injury suffered late in last Sunday’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs, quarterback Brady Quinn will miss the last two games of the season. That means we all get the luxury of watching Derek Anderson once again this season, this time running a no-huddle offense. Despite the details still being worked out, there is no question that Mike Holmgren will be the Browns’ new team president. There has been plenty of talk surrounding this hire, and it can be discussed until we are all blue in the face, but having Mike Holmgren in the organization gives the team one thing: credibility. The Cleveland Browns are starting to show some heart and perseverance.  We won our second straight game today to move to three wins on the season.  Cleveland beat the Chiefs at Kansas City, 41-34. Two Browns had extraordinary days.  Josh Cribbs returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.  Josh now has eight kick returns for touchdowns in his career  – an NFL record.  Jerome Harrison ran for 286 yards and three scores, including the game-winner.  Jerome beat Jim Brown’s team record for most rushing yards in a game (237) set way back in 1961.  Harrison’s tally is the third highest in NFL [...]

It appears The Onion has reported some very interesting Browns news. And it’s dead serious. And during this season, who’s to say we didn’t just miss it when we zoned out during one of the games?

A win over the Steelers and now this? Great news is just pouring out from the Browns organization in the past week, as it has been reported that Mike Holmgren is in town to meet with the team about possibly becoming the team’s head of football operations, although that’s not exactly being admitted by anyone involved. Even better is the fact that Holmgren’s agent is in Cleveland with him, which could be a very good sign. This whole situation is a good sign.
