Talks Over Josh Cribbs’ New Contract Going Well

After a period of much overreacting on the behalf of those who represent Joshua Cribbs, the talks regarding a new contract for the Pro Bowler have begun to improve. While there is no timetable for a contract to be done, there was a thought that it could be finished by the NFL Combine on February 24th.

With the way tensions have finally managed to calm down, it is difficult to think that a new deal will not be reached soon. The agent for Cribbs – J.R. Rickert – has been working with general manager Tom Heckert and new vice president of football operations Matt Thomas on this new contract. Gotta like this new front office so far.

Rickert was quoted as saying that this is the “most positive dialogue” they’ve had with the team in the last three years, which makes me think two things: are we underestimating just how bad this team’s operations have been in the past or did we just get blessed with that rare front office that knows how to build a championship-quality team?
