Browns president Mike Holmgren is, according to ESPN’s Michael Smith, once again talking to the St. Louis Rams about trading up for the No. 1 overall pick in an attempt to draft quarterback Sam Bradford. Why would this be a nightmare? Apparently, Holmgren is ready to deal “most” of the Browns’ 2010 picks and one or more picks in 2011.
Something about this just doesn’t seem right. The Browns have prided themselves on obtaining so many picks in this year’s draft, and they’re all of a sudden ready to give it all away for a quarterback? Even though Holmgren is going to inquire about the possible trade, there has to be more to this story. Either that or it’s a well-crafted smokescreen.
