Despite Not Signing Tender, RB Jerome Harrison is a Part of OTAs

Cleveland Browns v Kansas City ChiefsPerhaps looking at the potential talent that is fighting to take carries away from him this season, running back Jerome Harrison made a wise decision and joined the Browns’ organized team activities this week. Despite not signing the one-year tender offered to him, Harrison made the right move by showing up to the OTAs, as it is something the team, and its fans, will take notice of.

This most likely doesn’t change how Harrison feels about his contract situation – after all, he did miss the first week of OTAs, likely due to that very issue – but coming to camp anyway could help when it does come time to talk about a new deal. This new front office has not seen much of the running back, so a quick remedy to that is to actually show up to the team’s activities.

Just for the record, Harrison is the only restricted free agent at the team’s OTAs – Matt Roth, D’Qwell Jackson, Lawrence Vickers, and Abe Elam continue to pout.

    Smart move I think

    Smart move Jerome.
It sets a great example of ‘good will’ towards what’s really important to this club, and its success. There are many things bigger than ourselves, and taking this road may inspire others to get with it.

Execution leads to getting that Tempo, and the ‘Killing Strikes’ come from getting the reps.

You have my respect, and believe me, people will remember. I predict it will pay big dividends to your season.

Smart for the Team, yes, but let’s be real here; the decision by Harrison to attend the voluntary OTAs was solely because of the emergence of Hardesty as potentially a legitimate threat to Harrison as the lead running back throughout the season. Competition is always good.
