Montario Hardesty isn’t the only Browns rookie who may get a chance to start on Sundays this coming season. According to reports, rookies CB Joe Haden, S TJ Ward, and S Larry Asante may even get a shot to start as well.
Coach Eric Mangini likes what he has seen from the three in OTA’s thus far and was quoted as saying:
“If they’re the best guys, you may take some early lumps because they are rookies, but typically those guys continue to move up and excel.”
It’s no secret that the Browns’ secondary required some much-needed improvements. With the off-season acquisitions, via trades and the draft, it looks as though we will certainly see some new personnel out there. With any luck, these additions should provide some better results than what we have seen in years past.
