Harrison Thinking Long-Term?
It has been well documented the past couple of days that RB Jerome Harrison is in fact the only RFA who has been at the team’s OTA’s. Though he still has yet to sign his tender, Harrison offered up a little hint as to his intensons: “I just really like it in Cleveland. I like the fans. I like the people. I’ve built a lot of relationships with my teammates. That’s why I’m just going to keep playing football.” Harrison returned to camp after some advice from one of his youngest fans, his 8-year old niece, who told him: “Uncle [...]
Rookies May Have Big Roles This Season
Montario Hardesty isn’t the only Browns rookie who may get a chance to start on Sundays this coming season. According to reports, rookies CB Joe Haden, S TJ Ward, and S Larry Asante may even get a shot to start as well. Coach Eric Mangini likes what he has seen from the three in OTA’s thus far and was quoted as saying: “If they’re the best guys, you may take some early lumps because they are rookies, but typically those guys continue to move up and excel.” It’s no secret that the Browns’ secondary required some much-needed improvements. With the off-season acquisitions, [...]
QB Colt McCoy Talks About First Month with Browns
I figured to break up the typical talk surrounding the Browns’ OTAs, I would put up a video of quarterback Colt McCoy discussing his transition into pro football. Better than talking about the team’s restricted free agents again, isn’t it? But, in case you’re interested, we might have Jerome Harrison’s niece to thank for his appearance at the OTAs. Colt McCoy talks about his first month with the Cleveland Browns
With five restricted free agents, the Browns have the most of any team in the NFL. In order to give these players more time to make a decision, the team has extended the one-year contract offers to June 15. Should these players still decide they don’t want these one-year tenders, some of them could be leaving over a million dollars on the table. Of those five players – Jerome Harrison, D’Qwell Jackson, Lawrence Vickers, Abe Elam, and Matt Roth – only Harrison has been practicing with the team during OTAs. Ideally, all these players would be practicing, even though these [...]
It’s that time again to help contribute to ESPN the Magazine, as the yearly Ultimate Standings are upon us. Here’s where the Browns stand in this year’s rankings, courtesy of Morty Ain: The Browns moved up a bit in the rankings though the team took a huge hit in “Bang for the Buck.” ‘Ownership,’ ‘Stadium Experience’ and ‘Fan Relations’ continue to be graded very poorly by the fans. However, there was some improvement in how the fans felt about the players, and the affordability of a game. So what do you think? Why do you think the Browns have failed in some areas but [...]
