This week’s jersey tweaks are a submission from a reader named Greg Skaljac. He’s taken a very interesting approach to the Browns jerseys, especially with the helmet. Fans of the Brownie elf will be happy to see how Greg incorporated it into the tweaks, and if the Browns were ever to change their iconic helmet, this is how they should do it. Well, it was in garbage time, but it still counts. Making his first Pro Bowl appearance, C Alex Mack was able to get into the end zone off of a hook and lateral with little time left in the game. The pass, deep down the middle of the field to Dwayne Bowe, was lateraled to Michael Owens, who then lateraled it to Mack. With Jeff Fisher parting ways with the Tennessee Titans earlier this week, there is no doubt that a number of Browns fans were playing the “what if” game. What if the team had waited to see if a big-name coach was let go by his team, giving the Browns the chance to swoop in and grab him?

If only it would be for the Browns. Either way, former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar is looking to get back in the NFL with a position of some kind, whether it is in the coaching realm or something closer to the title of special consultant. Kosar has been down in Mobile, Alabama for this week’s Senior Bowl workouts, talking with  a number of teams, including the New England Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick. Ok, so the Browns had no shot at making it to Dallas this year for the Super Bowl – unless they purchased tickets ahead of time. But that hasn’t stopped Colt McCoy from making the trip back to his beloved Texas, where he’ll be coaching a squad.  The catch here, is that he’ll be coaching a celebrity team for the Celebrity Beach Bowl on February 5.  Giants QB Eli Manning will be on the sidelines guiding the other team.  After looking at the participants, it may be worthwhile to flip this “game” on for a bit, if only for a few [...]

He might only have three years of experience working in the NFL, but new special teams coordinator Chris Tabor comes with high praises from head coach Pat Shurmur. Shurmur continues to fill the available positions in his coaching staff, hiring Tabor to take the job left open by Brad Seely’s departure. Tabor was an assistant under Chicago Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub, who has a history with Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert going back to their days in Philadelphia.

Well if there is one good thing to take away from the Pittsburgh Steelers victory last night, it’s that Pittsburgh center Maurkice Pouncey will be unable to play in this week’s Pro Bowl game.  In his place will be Browns center Alex Mack. This announcement now gives the Browns two representatives in this year’s Pro Bowl, the other being tackle Joe Thomas.

To Browns fans, the AFC Championship game match-up is a nightmare come true. On one hand, you have the Browns’ biggest rivals – the Pittsburgh Steelers – once again fighting for the chance to play in the Super Bowl. On the other hand, there is the New York Jets, a team that has polarized football fans all season. So, as these two teams face off for the right to go to the Super Bowl,who would you rather see win?
