Taking a Look at the Cleveland Browns’ 2011 Opponents

Has the list of people coming into Cleveland to interview for the head coaching position got you down? Why don’t we take a break and look at the Browns’ 2011 opponents? It has to be better than considering Pat Shurmur, Mike Mularkey, or Marty Mornhinweg as the next head coach, right?

At first glance, the 2011 schedule has to be easier, even if you just consider that the Browns will be playing the NFC West. Even better, the Browns can finally go a season without playing the Buffalo Bills!

Here is the full list of the Browns’ 2011 opponents:

Home: Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks

Away: Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers

Topics: 2011 Opponents, Cleveland Browns

Yes–the 2011 schedule does see to be easier. Setting aside the hoopla over a new coach, one can only be excited about the possibility of Colt McCoy starting the season with a few games “under his belt”, and hopefully with a New Coach that is offensive minded. Toss in Hillis, and Hardesty, with hopefully a pickup in the draft of a wide receiver, and this offense will be a great improvement over what we have had in the past.
Ward and Haden, for their first year have truly been impressive on defense.
As far as the coaching goes–a lot will depend also on the presence (or lack of) of Ryan and Daboll. I personally would like Ryan to stay, Daboll on the other hand, can start packing his bags immediately.

I’m not sold on easier. Only the Bengals and Cards had a worse record than us, I think (on a quick read). And most of those teams were in the playoff hunt.
