(SI_PeterKing) Hearing the Browns could have a coach in place by Thursday. Now looking for a defensive coordinator. Pat Shurmur still the best guess.

Shurmur? Really? SOmeone form the press please ask Holmgrn how this is an upgrade from Mangini.

    No Gruden or Holmgren?

The league is laughing at us, not with us Mike.

I am confused but I believe in Holmgren 100%.

I would be disappointed with Shurmur, but I have to admit that it is mainly because I think we deserve a bigger splash. It is selfish – I admit it. And a little childish. But I want a big name head coach in Cleveland. I don’t care if that is near sighted.

I will say this – out of the existing NFL coordinators available, Shurmur is far and away the best choice. He has the offensive mindset. He knows quarterbacks – do not forget that he helped Bradford throw for the second most passing yards by a rookie QB in NFL HISTORY. And he almost took the Rams to the playoffs after years of painful suffering. If anyone can make McCoy a premiere QB in this League, Shurmur can. What I also like about this is that it means Daboll is gone 100%, along with virtually every assistant coach on the offensive side. Thank God!

Browns Fans Listen Up! I am a Bills fan and have a soft spot for the Browns being just down the street from us so to speak. There is word that you are considering Dick Jauron as your new DC. RUN FROM THIS GUY! He is as emotionless and uninspiring as any human being I have ever seen! The only thing he was good at in Buffalo (and everywhere else for that matter) was trading away our top talent! Jarius Byrd, Jason Peters, two all-pro Corners to the Vikes and the 49ers, he is POISON! I look forward to the day when Bills-Browns means more than bragging rights for Lake Erie. If you hire Jauron it will be that much longer. Good Luck Brownies!
