Cleveland Browns to Hire Dick Jauron as Defensive Coordinator

It looks as though the Cleveland Browns have found their new defensive coordinator. The team is set to hire Philadelphia Eagles defensive backs coach Dick Jauron, making him the first coordinator to join head coach Pat Shurmur’s staff.

Jauron is a two-time head coach in the NFL (three if you count his tenure as the Detroit Lions‘ interim head coach in 2005), so he brings plenty of experience to the staff. After all, the 60-year-old has been a coach in the league since 1985.

Even better, a source (the always-loved “source”) says that Jauron is choosing Cleveland because of his familiarity with president Mike Holmgren and GM Tom Heckert. That’s what finally having a solid front office will do for you.

There has also been talk of the Browns switching back to the 4-3 defense, something that many people have been wishing for for a number of years. What do you think, should the Browns go back to the 4-3?
