How the Cleveland Browns Can Beat the St. Louis Rams

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Cleveland Browns have a golden opportunity on Sunday. Going up against the 1-7 St. Louis Rams, the Browns have the chance to silence some of their critics by taking care of business against what appears to be an inferior opponent (at least record-wise). And if they lose? Well, it’s not going to be pretty. Here are five ways the Browns can defeat the St. Louis Rams on Sunday: 1) Run, run, run - If you thought the Browns’ run defense was bad, they go up against the worst in the league on Sunday. Even without Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty, the [...]

Rams RB Steven Jackson Could Have Big Day Against the Browns

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns, Gameday, Injuries | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the Browns sitting at 3-5 and the St. Louis Rams coming into Cleveland on Sunday with a record of 1-7, this match-up isn’t exactly going to be a clash of the titans. Regardless, it’s a chance for the Browns to miraculously inch closer to being .500 on the season, so this game does carry some importance. Despite their record, the Rams should not be taken lightly, especially when it comes to running the ball. As of now, the Browns have the NFL’s 30th-ranked rush defense, giving up 144 yards per game. Interestingly enough, the Rams have the league’s worst [...]

The Remote Report: Is the Positivity Gone in Cleveland?

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: None Yet

If I may be optimistic for a moment, one of the finest phrases I know of is the thought that “hope springs eternal.” If I may be realistic for a moment, my immediate reaction when applying this to the Cleveland Browns is “that’s stupid.” But here I am, and I’m going to do the unthinkable: I’m going to defend the Cleveland Browns in spite of everything I witnessed last week, and the week before…and the year before, and the 11 years before that (Note, this is not what I set out to do with this post, but screw it, you [...]

Cleveland Browns Safety T.J. Ward to Miss 4-6 Weeks With Foot Injury

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns, Injuries | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Cleveland Browns secondary continues to get hit with injuries, as safety T.J. Ward is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a foot injury. Ward is one of the most physical players on the Browns defense, so this is no doubt a huge blow to a team that will soon be entering the most difficult part of its schedule. There was some good news on Friday, though, as free safety Usama Young returned to practice after sustaining a hip injury. The Browns are hopeful that he can play Sunday, as his services will very much be needed. With this rash of [...]

Are the Cleveland Browns Adding a Few Wrinkles Into the Offense?

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Cleveland Browns’ offense is making a quick descent into the bottom of the NFL rankings. As of today, the Browns have the 30th ranked defense, ahead of only the winless Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Needless to say, with the team’s top two running backs and No. 1 wide receiver currently injured, the Browns need to start mixing it up on offense. Wide receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs alluded to just that on Wednesday, as he hinted at the possibility of showing up in the backfield against the St. Louis Rams. At this point, anything would be a welcome change [...]

Jon Sandusky Remains With Browns Despite Reports of Leave of Absence

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: None Yet

By now, you know about the scandal that is unfolding at Penn State. While it is a sickening, disappointing situation, it is worth noting that this ordeal does have a Cleveland Browns connection. Jon Sandusky, the Browns’ director of player personnel and son of Jerry Sandusky (who has been accused of sexually abusing eight children from 1994 to 2009), will remain with the Browns despite previous reports that had him taking a leave of absence. While it would certainly be understandable for the younger Sandusky to take a leave of absence, it is respectable that he will continue to work [...]

Don’t Throw Colt McCoy Under the Bus Just Yet, Browns Fans

AUTHOR: | IN: 2012, Browns, NFL Draft | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

After eight games into the season, it is painfully obvious that the Cleveland Browns won’t be making the playoffs or even challenging for a Wild Card spot. While the defense has done its best to keep the team in games, the offense is in shambles. Running backs Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty are injured and now Mohamed Massaquoi - the Browns’ supposed No. 1 wide receiver – has just sustained his second concussion of the season. That being said, it is no wonder that quarterback Colt McCoy is not having a stellar season. His stats are slightly deceiving – 1,764 yards, ten touchdowns, six [...]

What Disappointed You Most About the Browns’ 30-12 Loss to the Texans?

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns, Polls | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s understandable if you have trouble choosing just one option below (though we gave you an option that saves you from such turmoil), as the Cleveland Browns did very little right in Sunday’s 30-12 loss to the Houston Texans. The defense was trampled over by both Arian Foster and Ben Tate, the offensive line couldn’t protect Colt McCoy, and the injuries continue to mount. We are only eight games into the season and fans are already beginning to jump ship. Not from their support for the team, but from the optimism that drives them from week to week. Watching the Browns [...]

Are You as Frustrated as This Cleveland Browns Fan?

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns, Videos | COMMENTS: None Yet

There is no doubt that you, as a Cleveland Browns fan, are frustrated after the team’s 30-12 loss in Houston on Sunday. It certainly comes with good reason. Eight games into the season, the Browns have already descended into a discombobulated pull-your-hair-out-every-Sunday kind of team. This would likely be easier to swallow if this wasn’t the status quo each and every year. No one expected the Browns to be a playoff contender this season, but fans always appreciate a team that is, at the very least, competitive. Right now, the Browns can hardly call themselves that. The road to contention [...]

Cleveland Browns Look Terrible in Every Way in 30-12 Loss to Texans

AUTHOR: | IN: Browns | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Lately, the one saving grace about the Cleveland Browns has come in the form of their defense. Whenever the offense was descending into its typical maddening display on the field, we could always point to the defense as a shining beacon of a hopeful future. After Sunday’s 30-12 loss to the Houston Texans, not even the defense could be used as a reason for optimism. This latest debacle was an all-around effort, with the Browns looking clueless in nearly every facet of the game. One could have predicted a poor showing by the offense, but it’s doubtful that many people [...]
