Browns Could Be on Verge of Losing Chip Kelly to Philadelphia Eagles

The Cleveland Browns were supposed to meet with Oregon head coach Chip Kelly out in Arizona this evening, but that meeting has been delayed by the fact that Kelly has also been meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles, who continue to push strongly to hire him.

24 hours ago, it looked like Kelly to the Browns was a done deal, but a strong play by the Eagles on Saturday has essentially made it a toss-up between the two teams.

It’s been a long, long lunch meeting for Kelly and the Eagles, which could put the Browns’ chances in serious jeopardy. Or maybe Kelly is just being thorough.

Either way, a decision should be coming soon, but with the back-and-forth speculation of the past two days, anything is possible.

Kelly woulda mean’t more rebuilding in a yr with few qb options. Why not give Weeden one more yr? Can always draft qb 2 yrs from now if he blows… Hoping we get an old school punch em in the mouth type coach!
