Former Browns tight end great Ozzie Newsome and current Ravens general manager was taken from Soldier Field in an ambulance following Sunday night’s overtime loss to the Chicago Bears, according to the Chicago Tribune.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter, via his twitter account,  cited the Ravens’ official website in reporting that Ozzie did not feel well and a team doctor recommended he did not fly back to Baltimore with the team.

All of us here at Dawg Pound Daily hope it was just a precautionary measure because he was feeling a little under the weather and the team doctors just wanted to make sure it was nothing serious.

As a youngster, I had the opportunity to spend some time on the Browns sideline, and one of my fondest memories growing up was having a little sideline catch with Ozzie before a Baltimore Colts game in 1983.

He was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I sincerely hope Ozzie is okay and wish him a speedy recovery!!!
