Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski opened up his media availability by saying, “”Not a mystery, not a curse, tangible reasons we lost that game. I see good signs, progress this team is making overshadowed.  We have a plan, I believe in that plan and I’ll navigate us through this to better days ahead.”

Brandon Weeden suffered a concussion and is currently in the NFL protocol.  Jason Campbell has been cleared for activity but not cleared to practice.  He is considered day t0 day, so he might be able to play against the Patriots.  The Browns have not ruled out bringing in another quarterback this week or in the future.  Right this second, Alex Tanney is projected to take first team reps in practice.  Chud said they will have a package ready for Tanney if they do need to go that route.  They will use the next 24-48 hours to determine the direction they will go at quarterback this week.

Regarding Weeden’s first half interceptions – “They weren’t good decisions, coverage was tight. Those are things Brandon would like to have back.”  Chud also noted that Josh Gordon was wide open 25 yards down field on one of them and he simply missed him.  He said Gordon was open along sideline late in 1st half when Weeden when he was sacked and stripped; it would have set up a field goal.

When asked about Joe Haden showing emotion after the game and frustration in general – “Frustration, disappointment, those things are signs to me that people care. We need to channel them in a positive direction.”

In regards to Gordon – “It’s no surprise to me. Saw this months ago. He’s improving as a player. You’ve seen his confidence grow.”  Called him a long strider with deceptive speed.

Chud also mentioned that there were some issues with red zone that need to be cleaned up and more efficient in getting plays called, etc.
