In light of a report that Jim Tressel would be interviewed for the head coaching vacancy, Adam Schefter is reporting that the Cleveland Browns told him it is ‘totally false’.  Tressel is always going to be a popular coach in the state of Ohio, but this certainly seems like a huge stretch.

Tressel is currently working at the University of Akron in a non-football role.  He is still serving a show cause penalty due to penalties levied against him while he was coaching the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Nothing about that would prevent Tressel from pursuing an NFL career and had a small role with the Indianapolis Colts.

Tressel has not closed the door on potentially coaching again, but it certainly sounds like he is happy in the role he has.  The most recent interview that addressed this topic was in light of the release of the 30 for 30 film ESPN ran about Tressel and Maurice Clarett, the former Buckeye star running back.
