The Cleveland Browns had said they were not going to be interested in any candidates they interviewed last year.  That would include current defensive coordinator Ray Horton, who some might have thought would get some consideration for the head coach.  There were several in the media last year hoping Horton would be hired as the head coach.  According to this report from Dave Birkett, Horton will have an opportunity to interview for the Minnesota Vikings head coaching job.

The Vikings fired Leslie Frazier after a relatively mediocre run, though general manager Rick Spielman owned some of the blame for not being able to deliver him a quarterback (as he should).  Frazier was a defensive head coach with the Vikings as a former coordinator before getting the job.

Horton, also a defensive head coach does have a much different take on the defensive scheme.  He tends to run out of a base 3-4 but really likes to move players around and give a lot of different looks in hopes of putting players in positions to succeed.  Obviously, Horton is coming off of a season heavy on criticism because of the amount of late let downs from the Browns defense.
