The Cleveland Browns have been linked to Jim Schwartz almost immediately once he was fired by the Detroit Lions.  Schwartz has ties to Mike Lombardi, the Browns general manager, from when both were working with Bill Belichick before the Browns moved to Baltimore.

There have been numerous reports that suggested the Browns had all but hired Schwartz and were putting the Browns in the position of having a defensive coordinator potentially before they had a head coach.  This prompted more than a few critics and a large number of fans to roll their eyes and throw out the familiar line in recent weeks; ‘same ole Browns’.

The coaching search has had more junk thrown around than a start from Toronto Blue Jays knuckle baller R.A. Dickey.  Some of this feels intentional as the Browns always seem to want to have the media not sure what the Browns are actually going to do.
