According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, the report that the Cleveland Browns would be interviewing Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is not true.  In yet another twist with this coaching search, it would appear that Stoops will be staying in Norman.

The way this is reported, it would suggest the Browns were not interested in Stoops.  It is possible that the Browns were interested in Stoops and he was not interested in them.  Nevertheless, it does not appear that the longtime Oklahoma head coach will be coming to Cleveland.

Stoops had his fun with the media in this situation and just sort of let the story keep building without actually acknowledging it.  In the mean time, he can continue enjoying his Sugar Bowl victory as he heads out on the recruiting trail.  If the interest in Stoops was wrong all along, many in the media had it wrong and were misled, which has been a trend in the coaching search.  The team seems to revel in misinformation and confusing the situation.
