The Associated Press has weighed in the Bob Stoops to Cleveland Browns rumors and put their vote against.  Tom Withers is said to have direct knowledge on the situation (don’t they all) and told him the team is not interested in the Oklahoma Sooners head coach.

At this point, it could be because they have already interviewed the guy they want and are no longer interested in pursuing Stoops.  New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels interviewed for the job on Saturday, though the team cannot officially offer the job until they are out of the playoffs.  It is also possible that the Browns were never interested in Stoops.  In either case, the media vote is at 2 to 1 against the Browns being interested in Stoops thus far.

For Stoops’ part, he has never said anything definitive one way or another and seems to just enjoy having the media speculating and not sure what is going on with him.
