Brunch with Brownie

Good late morning and early afternoon Browns fans!!!!

Well one side of the NFC and AFC Championship games are set after yesterday’s division playoffs.

The earlier of the two games saw the New Orleans Saints almost muster a comeback against the favored Seattle Seahawks, but at

the end there just wasn’t enough time. ::Insert Will Ferrell Bed Bath and Beyond quote here::

New Orleans burned two timeouts early in the fourth quarter, which proved costly as they just ran out of time driving down the field to try to tie the score with a touchdown and two-point conversion.  Seattle will play either Carolina or San Francisco in the NFC Championship game.

In the late game, New England rushed for six touchdowns, as they routed the Indianapolis Colts 43-22 at Gillette Stadium.  LeGarrette Blount rushed for four touchdowns in a game that saw the New England running back’s combine for 234 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck threw a career high four interceptions in the contest.  There was no extra magic to be had, and the Colts playoff run is now over.

The New England Patriots will play the winner of today’s game which matches up the Denver Broncos against the San Diego Chargers.  The Chargers defeated the Broncos at Mile High late in the season.

And still…no new Browns coach as of today!!!!!

>Interesting take by the PD’s Glenn Moore. After you read it a couple of times you will tend to agree with him!!

>Reading this tweet by La Canfora makes me laugh.  I’m beginning to wonder if it’s more like these coaches are giving up on the Browns!!!!

Why are they interviewing McDermott, when they said they wanted an offensive coach to be the next head coach? They are running out of viable candidates, I suspect because of the trust issue!! We also don’t want to be here next year!! They would be lucky to find a high school coach that would take the job! Part of their reasoning to fire Chud was they wanted to get it right? Have they no idea what they want? They must of had someone in mind before pulling this Comedy of errors!! Yet it would seem they can’t get who they want or really didn’t know? None of what I would consider the top people, want to come here for one reason or another? I’ve got my fingers crossed they can pull a coach out of a hat!!
This year is too important with all the cap room and draft choices to mess it up! It would put this team back 5 years if this year isn’t done right!!

You must have read my mind my friend, because I just tweeted a friend the same thing about the HS coach being the only one who is going to want to coach this team. Seems the FO has bungled the whole process, and from several reports, seems like the three of them aren’t even on the same page. Comedy of errors is an understatement…I truly believe at this point the circus did come to town when Haslam brought his misfit minions(i.e. Lombardi and Banner) with him to Cleveland.. May write a piece on this later, so stay tuned!!!
