According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, reporting on “NFL Gameday Morning”, Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase might pass on talking with the Browns to stay with Denver for at least another season.
On #Browns: OC Adam Gase feels he’s in a great situation & would need a perfect opportunity to leave Denver. May not even interview in CLE
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 19, 2014
Rapoport was told that “it would take something perfect” to pull Gase away from his current job as Broncos offensive coordinator. Gase is apparently in no rush to move on from his current gig.
If Gase withdraws, Rapoport also reported that the Browns will definitely bring Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn back for a second interview. According to the report, there is definitely mutual interest between Quinn and the Browns.
It is said that if he lands the Browns job, look for Quinn to bring in either former Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, or former Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to run the offense.
Will the fan base take this as yet a swing and a miss on the Browns part to land the guy they coveted once again, or will they be satisfied with the possible hiring of Quinn?
Dare I even say what if Quinn declined as well?
And the Browns coaching search wages on….
