It is no secret that the Browns running game was atrocious this year and this would be the pick they obtained in the Trent Richardson trade.  After evaluating Richardson, the front office decided they wanted to move him and when the Colts gave them an offer they couldn’t refuse, they jumped on it, and landed a first round pick in the process.  After the Colts season,  it turned into this pick, the 26th in the first round.  This would be a great spot to snag the most talented back in the  draft.  Hyde is a three down back at the next level, with the ability to run between the tackles and catch the ball out of the backfield.  Couple him with a competent quarterback, and then add Pro Bowler’s Cameron and Gordon and the Browns could have a very good offense next year.

27. Zack Martin – New Orleans Saints

Mike, I think if the info is getting out there from the front office that the Browns are interested in JM it’s not happening by accident and it’s definitely not happening because they want Manziel. I think it makes more sense that they’re trying to get others to bid ahead of the Browns to get Manziel so whoever they really want is more likely to be there at 4.

  • Gary

I really hope the Browns don’t take Manziel. I just don’t think he is the answer and surely isn’t worth giving up a pick or two to move up and get him. But, as usual, the browns will once again pick the wrong players.

At least Hoyer will be there to finish the last 14 games of season when Manziel gets knocked into next week on an ill-advised scramble.

    NCAA’s Johnny Football = NFL’s Johnny Injured!

I’m up in the air on this one too guys!!! I personally am almost leaning towards hoping Bortles is there at 4. He has the size to withstand punishment in the AFC North, and the skills to become a very good pro. Derek Carr barely measured 6’2 yesterday and he listed at 6’3, so Manziel is listed at 6’1, which means he may measure under 6′ at the combine.
