Roster Moves: Browns Add Tall Receiver Via Waivers

The Cleveland Browns are now reportedly on record in making 4 waiver claims today. Roster Moves so far include two offensive linemen, one running back and now a tall receiver in LaRon Byrd:

Byrd, unlike some of the other claims today, has actually been around for a little while. He was signed by the Arizona Cardinals after going undrafted out of the University of Miami in 2012. He played in a total of 4 games for the Cardinals, with 1 reception, before being injured and waived. He was picked up this off-season by the Dallas Cowboys and released yesterday. Byrd is a bigger receiver who hasn’t yet put it all together on the NFL level. Pete Smith of With the First Pick had an interesting ex-Brown comparison for the new Brown:

Morgan never put it together but was a solid enough player to make an impact for the team for a couple of years. A draft site that covers the Cowboys gives there approval for the pickup for the Browns:

Expect for fans to be excited seeing Byrd on the field as he will tower over most of the Browns receiving corp. Similar to our discussions about Stephen Hill, the question will be whether he can put his physical skills to use on the field or not.

Any thoughts on Byrd?
