Josh Gordon Gets A New Job

facebooktwitterreddit

Josh Gordon continues to be an interesting figure in Cleveland sports. He went from being hated when the news came out in May that he would be suspended to a sympathetic figure by the time he was actually suspended. We covered the possible new NFL Drug Policy updates yesterday and the connection to Gordon (New Window). Now comes a report that Gordon has a new job lined up:

The complete Tweet says this:

"#Browns WR Josh Gordon has a new job. He will be the goodwill ambassador for the Sarchione Auto group in Randolph, Ohio, which includes Sarchione Ford and Sarchione Chevrolet . He will be working in all aspects of their car business including as an on-floor salesman. Gordon will also be heading all of their local community efforts including with the Wounded Warriors Project. He starts this weekend."

Gordon will be using his celebrity to sell cars while also doing charitable works that will not only benefit the Auto Group and Gordon but also the community in general.

  • For Gordon he is moving forward to the best of his ability to make an income. Some people would have too much pride to sell cars after being a standout receiver, but Gordon doesn’t have that issue apparently. How often he will actually be on the sales floor is obviously not going to be the same as regular sales people.

The bigger concern is whether this will be beneficial for Gordon long term. On the negative side Gordon will have something taking away time and energy from cleaning up his act. On the other hand having something stable to keep himself busy, especially away from the people he grew up with, could help keep him on track.

Either way fans who want to see Josh Gordon this year will now have an opportunity. It is doubtful you will be able to take his camouflage sports car for a test drive but you could get some interesting interactions when Gordon is there.
