Quarterback Johnny Manziel was one of the most popular and polarizing players in college football. That didn’t die down or go away when he made it into the NFL and it is clear that Manziel is a fan favorite.

The Jersey Report, which tracks the best-selling player jerseys nationwide at DICK’S Sporting Goods stores and online, noticed that not only was Manziel popular, but he was outselling his peers at an incredible rate. All of this considering Manziel has yet to play a down in the NFL’s regular season and is currently the back up quarterback.

The time on the bench could be affecting Manziel, whose jersey dropped to the fifth best selling for the week, but since the NFL Draft no player has had their jersey bought more often than Johnny Football. In fact, during the 2014 offseason Manziel sold more jerseys than Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III combined.

All-in-all, Manziel’s jersey accounts for 10 percent of all jerseys sold.

From the Jersey Report:

The sale on Manziel’s jersey hasn’t been confined to Ohio, or even his home state of Texas. There are sales of his jersey all over the upper Atlantic coast and New England, as well as the Pacific Northwest.
