Browns Still Struggling With Injuries

The Cleveland Browns head into their Sunday game against the Houston Texans on a high note. Their sound defeat of the Cincinnati Bengals has put the AFC North into confusion and the AFC on notice.

However the Browns continue to struggle with injuries that could impact them Sunday:

A lot of talent on that list so we will go over each one by one:

Andrew Hawkins – Hawk was a game time decision last week so the hopes are high that he will be ready to go Sunday. Hawkins plays a huge role for the Browns but they were able to survive without him against the Bengals. Taylor Gabriel and even Travis Benjamin played the role of Hawkins decently well. His leg injury does not seem severe.

Jordan Cameron – Cameron hasn’t had a great season. In fact he has had a sub-par season. Yet his presence on the field attracts a ton of attention. His concussion was severe and he could take some time coming back. If he is allowed on the field this week it is a great sign that he has progressed in the concussion protocol.

Phil Taylor – Taylor returned for the first time last week but got hurt near the end of the game. His leg injury does not seem severe and this is likely more of a rest to keep him healthy. The big guys return to NT helps the line against both the run and the pass.

Tashaun Gipson – Gipson played the entire game Thursday Night but when the team returned he reported having headaches. He is now under the concussion protocol. It is possible that his is just minor but head injuries do not heal at a standard rate. Gipson being out could be a huge knock for the Browns with Ryan Mallett getting his first start, and unleashing his cannon of an arm.

Nick McDonald – McDonald has a calf injury. The Browns can ill afford to reshuffle their offensive line with J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney on the menu this Sunday. While McDonald has not been great, the line has solidified over the past few weeks. He will have his moments where things go very wrong but in general has performed acceptably.

Which do you think would be the biggest piece missed on Sunday?
