The Cleveland Browns take on the Atlanta Falcons today in a big game for both teams. The Browns are 6 – 4 and just out of the AFC North and Wild Card spots. The Falcons, at 4 – 6, are tied for first place in the bad NFC South. Both teams need a win today so records are out the window.

Can the Browns run the ball and stop the run while making plays with Josh Gordon and somehow stopping the Falcons passing game?

    • Browns don’t call a timeout, even though they have three.
  • Andrew Hawkins makes a few tacklers miss and gets out of bounds.
    • Still need a good 20 yards or more for a good FG attempt.
  • Terrible throw by Hoyer to Josh Gordon could have been a big play for the Browns.
    • Thrown a good 3 feet behind Gordon.
    • 60 yard field goal attempt.
    • Devin Hester almost brought it back for a TD.

Not a great quarter for the Browns. Brian Hoyer has not been on point and could lose his starting job with all his missed throws today. A couple of successful throws could change the complexion of the game but they are not to be. Instead the Browns get the ball after half and need to put something together.
