The Cleveland Browns failed to show up in the second half Thursday in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The Browns offense failed to record a first down in the second half until the 3:27 mark of the fourth quarter. By that point the Browns trailed by 21 points and the game was out of reach. In the last three weeks the Browns have been outscored 55-3 in the second half of games.

The Browns simply have no reason to only play thirty minutes of football and come out flat and uninspired in the second half. The coaching staff offensively and defensively have failed to make adjustments and it has shown as the Browns record fell to 2-7.

Johnny Manziel showed improvement and poise with his first half play. However, the second half resulted in four straight three and outs before the Browns picked up a first down. In the second half Manziel played erratic and tried to make to many big plays instead of playing in the structure of the pocket and the offensive game plan.

Manziel did show enough promise where the Browns should start him the last seven games and see where his development leads. Manziel struggles with his pocket presence and awareness and it can only improve from playing every week.
