The Cleveland Browns have made plenty of player mistakes over the years, but there is only one jersey number worthy of being called the most embarrassing.

For the Win recently made a list of the most embarrassing jersey for a fan to own for each of the NFL’s 32 teams.

The site did a mostly admirable job with the other teams in the AFC North, especially in selecting Akili Smith of the Cincinnati Bengals, who went 3-14 as a starter after being the No. 3 pick of the 1999 NFL Draft.

LeGarrette Blount may not have been our first choice for the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially for a team that used a first-round draft pick on Mark Malone.

Baltimore Ravens fans may not feel particularly warm toward former kicker Billy Cundiff, but you may see a No. 7 Cundiff jersey before you see a jersey sporting the name of Kyle Boller, the team’s first-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft.

When it came to the Cleveland Browns, however, the site missed the appropriate jersey selection just as sure as the player who sported the jersey missed open wide receivers.

While For the Win went with the often-seen jersey listing the names of the quarterbacks who have led the Browns since 1999, there is only one jersey that should have been under consideration: Johnny Manziel’s No. 2.

The Browns have had their share of first-round busts over the years, including Pete Adams in 1973, Willis Adams in 1979, Mike Junkin in 1987, Clifford Charlton in 1988, Craig Powell in 1995 and Justin Gilbert in 2014, but none have busted out in as spectacular fashion as Manziel, who was an embarrassment to the franchise from the moment he walked across the Radio City Music Hall stage on draft night.

In two years with the Browns, Manziel made eight starts, compiling a 2-6 record, passed for 1,675 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions, fumbled seven times and completed just 57 percent of his passes.

He also:

  • Was photographed drinking from a bottle of champagne while floating in a pool atop an inflatable swan at a bar in Austin, Texas.
  • Had a video show up on Instagram while holding a stack of money to his ear and pretending it’s a phone.
  • Had a photograph online showing him tightly rolling a dollar bill in the bathroom of a bar.
  • Willingly took off his rookie year without telling his coaches
  • Spent time in an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center
  • Openly lied to his coaches about what he did during the bye week
  • Is being investigated by a grand jury for an incident with his former girlfriend
  • Reportedly showed up at practice drunk
  • Reportedly spent the final week of the season in Las Vegas rather than with team
  • Is a below-average quarterback in just about every important measurable at the NFL level

Since being released by the club in March he has been indicted on an assault charge in Dallas and kept busy making the party scene in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

The Browns have been playing football for almost 70 years and it is simply impossible to come up with anything more embarrassing as a fan than to be seen sporting a No. 2 Manziel jersey.

How For the Win could have come to any other conclusion is simply unfathomable.

What do you say Browns fans? Is Manziel’s No. 2 the most-embarrasing jersey to own, or is their a more appropriate pick?
