Spanning the virtual globe to bring you the latest news about the Cleveland Browns and the NFL – these are your Daily Dawg Tags for Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Another day has passed which means we are one day to closer to Cleveland Browns football.

The Browns will open the regular season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and will do so against rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, who the Browns passed on in this year’s draft.

A great performance from Wentz could have fans in Cleveland wondering about what could have been, although the Browns defense should be able to give the rookie a tough debut.

While we continue to wait for the season to finally begin, let’s take a look at the news surrounding the Browns and the rest of the NFL in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.

Cleveland Browns smart to keep all four rookie WRs

"The Cleveland Browns are preparing for Week 1 of the regular season and are doing so with all four of the rookie wide receivers drafted this year.Corey Coleman, Rashard Higgins, Ricardo Louis and Jordan Payton all made it through the roster cuts, joining Andrew Hawkins and Terrelle Pryor as the receivers on the roster. Josh Gordon will join the group once he returns from his four-game suspension."

Cleveland Browns practice squad grows by four more players

Despite the additions, one more is on its way. Cleveland will be signing rookie quarterback Kevin Hogan to their practice squad. Cleveland will now have two quarterbacks from the 2016 NFL Draft. Hogan was a fifth round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs."

"A Cleveland Browns roster full of NFL neophytes has not affected Hue Jackson’s outlook or expectations for the 2016 season. “We’re going to find a way to do it,” Jackson said Monday as the Browns prepared for the season opener in Philadelphia. “I don’t know how it’s going to happen, by hook or by crook we’re going to get this done."

"The New Orleans Saints have put themselves in an awkward situation with quarterback Drew Brees. New Orleans expected to sign the quarterback, who is a free agent after this season, to an extension during the offseason. However, the two sides have not been able to agree to a new deal. Brees is reportedly asking for a four-year deal worth over $100 million and he would prefer to avoid negotiating during the regular season."
