We recently took part in a FanSided-wide NFL mock draft to share our view on who the Cleveland Browns will select on Thursday.

Realizing today is the final Monday before the NFL Draft should have Cleveland Browns fans everywhere feeling a bit better today.

The draft talk has consumed the airwaves since the regular season ended, which is the case every single year, but it was especially strong this year due to the team not only having the No. 1 overall pick, but the No. 12 pick as well.

This year’s draft also marks perhaps the most important draft since the team returned, which is something that has been said more than once since 1999. However, since the Browns openly decided to bottom out a season ago, the next step is to begin improving and build a consistent winner.

That is what makes this draft so important, while also making it one in which Browns fans are quick to share who they think the team should draft on Thursday.

We joined in on the fun, and gave our take on the No. 1 and No. 12 picks in a recent mock draft on NFL Mocks that had site experts from all over FanSided come together to predict the first round.

We kept it simple at No. 1 going with Myles Garrett. But at No. 12, we decided to go with Mitchell Trubisky, who has been linked to the Browns all offseason.

Mock drafts are both fun and frustrating due to how fans create a narrative of what the team will do, when none of it is based on anything the team has come out and said. However, it is clear the Browns need a quarterback and the offseason meetings with Trubisky could mean he is coming to Cleveland.

Then again, the team has met with several quarterbacks so it is possible Deshaun Watson, DeShone Kizer or Patrick Mahomes could come off the board at No. 12, or even sooner. The Browns could also decide to go another route with that pick, which is all the fun of watching on Thursday night.

Next: Warren Sapp not a fan of Myles Garrett

I would recommend checking out the entire mock draft, as it is fun to see the insight given by site experts from all over the NFL division here at FanSided. It is also fun to compare the mock draft to the final result, although we feel safe with taking Garrett No. 1 overall.
