Two Brownies Pro Bowl Bound

In this nightmare season, where the Browns get demolished on a weekly basis like an expansion team full of 31 other teams’ rejects, there does appear to be two bright spots – OT Joe Thomas and DT Shaun Rogers. The two were picked to represent the AFC at the 2009 Pro Bowl.  Thomas has been solid on the line and Rogers has been a force up the middle.  And, in typical Browns fashion, they somehow have gotten worse defensively, even with a truly great lineman in Rogers.

It is infuriating at every turn when trying to figure out this team, but for once, I don’t have to.  I can at least report on some good news…of course, it is just a reminder of the season that could have been.  Additionally, Browns do-it-all kick returner/receiver/underutilized quarterback in a lost season Joshua Cribbs was named a first alternate on special teams and K Phil Dawson was named second alternate.  Who knows, maybe third alternates LB D’Qwell Jackson and LG Eric Steinbach will get a chance to spend part of February in the Hawaiian sun.

This will be the second straight Pro Bowl for Thomas and the third overall for Rogers.
