Browns Add Depth to O-Line and EB Pays a Visit
With the recent departures of veteran offensive linemen Rex Hadnot and Hank Fraley the Browns where in need of some O-line help. Enter Eric Ghiaciuc, the former Bengal, also spent time with San Diego and Kansas City last season. Drafted in the the 4th round of the 2005 draft, Ghiaciuc has started 42 games, the bulk of which were at center.
Also according to league sources, don’t you just love those, Eric Berry was in Cleveland today. This is Berry’s fourth pre-draft visit, having already visited Kansas City, Washington, and Philadelphia (something tells me he won’t fall to 24 though, let’s call it a hunch). Berry is also scheduled to travel to Tampa Bay and visit the Bucs this Sunday. However the most interesting piece to this story is that the Cleveland brain-trust have told Berry that they don’t expect him to be available when the team is on the clock with the 7th pick. Could this mean that Holmgren and Company are considering packaging a 3rd round pick to move up in the draft?? I guess we will find out in the next two weeks, with the draft a mere 14 days away!
