QB Jake Delhomme to Start Against Former Team

Quarterback Jake Delhomme will get the chance to start against his former team, the Carolina Panthers, on Sunday. With Colt McCoy sitting out with an ankle sprain, Delhomme gets to exact some revenge against the team that cut him last season.

Everyone has become pretty excited about what McCoy brings to the future of this team, and Delhomme certainly recognizes that, but it’s nice to see him getting a chance to show the Panthers what they’ve been missing in a miserable, injury-ravaged season.

We all wanted to see what McCoy could do against the weaker teams of the league, but it might be some time before that will happen. Until then, seeing a quarterback near the end of his career hopefully going out on a better note than a season-ending ankle sprain will be satisfying enough.
