Rams O-Coordinator Pat Shurmur Interviews with Cleveland Browns

How’s this for exciting?!

Alright, I’ll admit, the Browns’ head coaching search so far has left me less than enthused. However, there’s at least some reason to be excited about the prospect of Pat Shurmur becoming the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He did help rookie quarterback Sam Bradford succeed in his rookie year, after all. I’m just not sure that’s enough reason to “get psyched” for Shurmur.

Shurmur has been called a wild card in the Browns’ search for a head coach, but it’s still hard to imagine the Browns going with a coordinator. It just doesn’t make any sense. I’m not trying to say that I’m against the idea of hiring coordinators in general, but it just doesn’t suit the Browns right now. Jon Gruden or Mike Holmgren have to return to the sidelines for the Browns for the firing of Eric Mangini to feel justified, at least in my mind. I’d like to think at least some Browns fans feel the same way.
