Will Peyton Hillis Play for the Cleveland Browns in 2012?

When people describe the season of Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis as a never-ending saga, they aren’t kidding. Friday brought more drama to Hillis’ season, as he left practice early after re-aggravating his hamstring injury. Hillis tossed his helmet and the football in frustration, leaving his status for Sunday’s game very much in doubt.

And that’s not all. A recent Yahoo! Sports article suggests that Hillis is losing support in the Browns locker room. That may not seem like news, as that rumor has been around since Hillis missed the game against the Miami Dolphins with strep throat. But now, with the news coming out in regards to a meeting between team veterans and Hillis, and other players speaking out about the distraction that his contract situation has caused, things only seem to be getting worse in Cleveland.

With the way things are going, Peyton Hillis appears to be completely dismantling everything he built up with the Browns organization and its fans last season. An extension for him seemed like a no-brainer at the beginning of the season, but at this point, he’s shaping up to be nothing more than an oft-injured headache for the team.

Whether or not much of that is his fault isn’t the point. The point is that the media, fans, and now apparently members of the organization are buying into Hillis as a distraction, and that’s not a good sign for his future with the Browns.

So at this point, what do you think? Will Peyton Hillis be a member of the Cleveland Browns in 2012?
