It’s Time for the Browns to Welcome Back…Beau Bell?
Under any other circumstances, it might be easy to forget about linebacker Beau Bell. But in 2008, he was the Browns’ first pick of the draft…in the fourth round. In order to get quarterback Brady Quinn and defensive linemen Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams, the Browns had to relinquish all of those top picks.
Bell, for a number of reasons, never panned out in Cleveland and he faded into obscurity…until now.
He will be with 40-plus other players this weekend at an NFL Regional Combine in Berea, looking to make a comeback.
According to Tony Grossi, these combines are for players who:
1. Were not invited to the national combine in Indianapolis
2. Have college experience who were eligible for a previous draft
3. Have some pro playing experience but have been out of the game for a while
With the switch to the 3-4, the Browns need all the help they can get at linebacker. Could we be seeing the vaunted return of Beau Bell in 2013?
