Browns DT Desmond Bryant Being Sued for Drunkenly Terrorizing a Family
New Browns defensive tackle Desmond Bryant is no stranger to putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, but he’s also now no stranger to bizarre off-field incidents.
By now, you likely know about Bryant’s mugshot from his arrest in February, as it has gone viral for very good reasons. Now Bryant is being sued by the family he allegedly frightened at 5:30 a.m. on February 24.
Imagine this terrifying scene: a shirtless, 6-6, 311-pound man comes to your house (thinking it is his own home) and starts banging on the front door, ripping off a door handle in the process. You are a 5-1o, 170-pound man who has to stop this other man from breaking into your house. You have a family – including three kids ages ten, seven and four – that you have to protect.
What would you do if you were Isaac and Iris Bakaar?
That’s right – you’d sue. And that’s exactly what is happening.
Bryant is being sued for $15,000, which sure isn’t much for recently signing a five-year, $34 million deal with the Browns. Bryant has apologized and knows he “obviously made a mistake,” but one wonders exactly what was going through this Harvard graduate’s mind on that night.
