Report: Bills Kiko Alonso Possibly Tore ACL
The NFL has seen 2 major injuries this off-season to key linebackers in Sean Lee and Sean Weatherspoon. It now looks like that injury bug has claimed Buffalo Bills star Kiko Alonso:
Alonso was reportedly working out in Oregon when the injury occurred. Tests should confirm the injury, as rarely when someone thinks an ACL is torn is it another issue. Alonso was being moved from the middle linebacker spot to the weakside linebacker spot and was expected to continue his ascent into stardom this up coming season.

Alonso has 3 connections to the Cleveland Browns: 1) He most recently played under new Browns Head Coach Mike Pettine, 2) He made the tackle that tore Brian Hoyer‘s ACL and 3) the Bills owe the Browns their first round pick and Alonso’s injury may greatly impact that.
Interestingly we were working on a piece today, before storms knocked out power and internet service for long periods of time, looking at the Bills schedule. We will post, most likely tomorrow, looking at tough stretches for the Bills, the QBs that they will have to face and important players for the Bills next season.
In the players category we were to note that the Bills have 2 players that are in-disposable to the team. We were to note that an injury to one or both of those players would greatly increase the odds of a very high pick for the Cleveland Browns. One of those two players was Alonso. Like with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and other QBs, Alonso is the QB of their defense and sets up the defenses success.
Like losing one of those top QBs is what just happened to the Bills. We wish Alonso speedy recovery and hope he returns to the field the dynamic player he was before the injury. Too many players are lost every year, watching good football players play good football make it great. Alonso will be missed this up coming year.
