Browns Draft Position Almost Set

The Cleveland Browns season is over but their draft position is not yet set. It is close as only one game could impact their draft pick directly, although some of the games could impact teams Strength of Schedule. The St. Louis Rams winning against the Seattle Seahawks would move the Browns up another spot.

According to Dan Kadar of Mocking the Draft, the Browns are slotted to pick 12th with their pick and 19th with the Bills selection. According to Kadar’s math the Browns are .004 away from the Minnesota Vikings, who are picking 11th according to Kadar. The Bills pick is .005 away from being the 17th overall pick.

By midnight tonight we will have the finalized draft order and NFL Mock Draft season will get started in full force.

Based on the Trade Value Chart the 12th pick is worth 1,200 points while the 19th pick is worth 875 for a combined 2,075. Based purely the trade chart the Browns could trade those picks, plus a little bit more, for the 3rd overall pick. At this point many fans would be happy with trading both firsts and a little bit more to move up and select a quarterback. It is possible that either Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston could fall to the 3rd or 4th pick, whether the Browns are interested or willing to give up what it takes is a different discussion.

Moving up to 10 or 11 would add 50 points per pick to the value of the Browns pick and similar added value if the Bills get down to 17 or 18.

As it is the Browns would have the following picks:

12, 19, 44, 76, 108, 115, 140, 172, the Ravens 6th round pick and 204.
