Impact

With these three, or four, signings the Browns biggest needs of the off-season will all be filled. With Josh McCown at least capable of starting, Hartline and Shorts manning the receiver spots the offense will be far different, and likely better, than last year. Williams will plug the team’s huge need in the middle of the defense and should help both the run defense and open up holes for pass rushers. Cole and/or Morgan will team with Mingo and Kruger to give the Browns a great rotation at outside linebacker and defensive end (when the team goes to an even front). The good defense would be great with these additions.

That will then allow the Browns to draft the Best Player Available in the NFL Draft. They could still draft the best defensive lineman and wide receiver in the 1st round, like most have expected them to do. Adding a Danny Shelton, Malcom Brown or Arik Armstead to this group would be great for depth and talent. Amari Cooper, Kevin White or DeVante Parker would give the WR group a true #1 type but allow them to slowly adjust to the league and have far less pressure on them. Another pass rusher, in a draft deep with them, would also not be shocking. Or, just maybe since they filled their holes, they trade up to get their QB of the Future.

While these are just our predictions, we have some level of expectation that they could come through. Obviously we would not be surprised if these players all signed elsewhere and the Browns signed other players but these just seem to make sense and they would make a huge impact.
