2014 was a rough year for Mr. Manziel. A voluntary stint in rehab was enough evidence for that.

The fact he entered himself into rehab should be commended as a mature and also a brave move, but it does nothing to promote his cause to start for the Browns early in the 2015 season.

Based on comments from teammates and coaches alike, last year was a mess for Manziel. When he finally got to play, the results were disastrous, making a collapsing Brian Hoyer seem like a superior option.

It is cliched, but Manziel must earn his stripes in order to be looked at as the starter. Fans must remain patient and understand that while Johnny is 1-0 this season, he did nothing in that game to earn the starting role after a tumultuous 2014.
