Starting left guard Joel Bitonio will miss his first career game Sunday, due to an ankle injury suffered in last week’s loss to Cincinnati. In Bitonio’s absence, rookie first round draft pick Cameron Erving will start at the guard position.

At Florida State, Erving played every spot on the line and the Browns fell in love with his versatility, believing he is capable of playing anywhere they need. This week Erving will get his first career start and the Browns will get the first taste of a draft pick they think highly of.

“I’m just going to go out and I’m going to play football, regardless of what position I’m at.” – Cameron Erving

“Attitude, preparation, works hard. It’s important to him,” Pettine said of Erving. “He might be the most excited guy in the building. Just looking forward to this week finally get a chance, after all the time he’s put in to get a chance to go out and start.”

The Browns have had an abundance of high draft picks over the last few years and it is time to start seeing a return on these high picks. Hopefully Erving lives up to his first-round draft pick status and cements his spot somewhere in the Browns starting offensive line.
