The Johnny Manziel experiment was supposed to officially begin when he had been named the starter for the rest of the season. This all changed once he was punished for more off-the-field issues and relegated to third string.

While there is a slight possibility that Goff could still go first overall, he has not completely met the expectations that have been laid on him this season, which could result in him dropping down draft boards slightly.

Those expectations come across as slightly overblown to me, as Goff has still had an impressive season thus far. Despite a recent four game losing streak in which two were one score games, Goff still ranks in the top-10 in the nation in completions (286), yards (3,710), and touchdowns (32). He has also only had two games in which he’s thrown multiple interceptions.

Goff does not bring with him the dual-threat ability of Manziel, but wouldn’t take as much training to be comfortable in the pocket.
