Round 4 (Pick No. 99): Sheldon Day, Defensive Tackle, Notre Dame

Sheldon Day is a versatile defensive lineman that will excel in the right scheme. Day has experience playing defensive end and tackle giving him potential to play anywhere on the defensive line. Day explodes off the ball making him a productive pass rusher and clogs lanes in the running game.Day had a productive senior season recording 15.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, 13 quarterback hurries. Many draft experts are unsure if Day will play end or tackle at the NFL level and it has caused him to fall on draft boards.

The only downfall to Day is he is stuck between tackle and end and doesn’t have a true position. However, defensive coordinator Ray Horton will find creative ways to incorporate a talented player like Day who can bolster both the run and pass defense of the Browns.

Round 4 (Pick No. 138): Brandon Allen, Quarterback, Arkansas

Brandon Allen is an under-the-radar quarterback prospect that has the traits to have value in the later round of the draft. Allen was a three-year starter at Arkansas where he had steady progression over his career. Allen is intriguing as a prospect because of his NFL arm strength, accuracy and mobility.

Allen completed 66 percent of his passes this season showing the ability to make the type of throws that translate to the next level. Allen is a rising prospect after a senior season in which he threw for over 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in the tough SEC conference.

Allen will need development in reading and working through progressions, as he wasn’t required to work many complex reads in the Razorback’s offense. Although he lacks ideal size (6-foot-1), Allen posses the arm strength, accuracy, mobility and ball security that gives him value in the later rounds. With the proper coaching and development plan in place, Allen has the potential to succeed with his skill set.
